Thats a cool link, but why on earth do they not have any dots over Florida???
We have more mating pairs than any state the entire U.S. except Minnesota.

I have to say I never saw any as a child, but see them quite frequently now.
Beautiful birds.

The Philadelphia International Airport has had to put on hold or contemplate changing the design of it's expansion due to a bald eagle next that just appeared this year. :D

They are spectacular creatures and I'm glad that they did get to the bottom of the cause of their population decline and eliminate DDT.

I have fond memories of watching them when I was growing up in Gulf Breeze, FL. They were plentiful and they the most majestic bird I have ever seen.

It is indeed good to know that they have made a comeback.

We have a family of them about 10 minutes from my house. I have a few pics but you can barely tell what they are. Pretty far away to get them with my zoom. Pretty neat though that they are in Ohio.

sorry, but that's incorrect. The state of Alaska has over half of the world's bald eagle population. that's about 35000. just a few more than florida, minnesota or wisconsin...

I see them by me. Sometimes I work out in the middle of nowhere and I see there nests on the power poles.

My Father just returned from an Alaskan cruise and he said that there was a landfill that they had to pass by on their way to somewhere on the mainland. He said that he saw literally hundreds of bald eagles swarming every inch of that refuse pile!! He said that beyond the fact that it was a landfill, it was a beautiful sight to behold all of those majestic birds!! He also said that they were VERY large members of their species!! I would have loved to have seen that and I'm hoping that he got photos of that encounter!! 8-) 8-) 8-)

Well I knew Alaska was the highest, what I meant was on the map that was provided in the link we have the highest population.
