Cessna Crashed in Orlando
It was just on the news - it showed pictures and it hit either a couple of houses or maybe a strip mall - nothing on the site yet. Anyone else hear about this or got more?

Wow.
SANFORD, Fla. -- A single engine plane crashed into a house near Lake Monroe in Sanford. At least two houses were burning Tuesday morning. Homes were evacuated in the immediate area.
Firefighters say the plane was a Cessna 310 registered to Competitive Liason Bureau out of Daytona.
A spokeswoman says she heard reports of at least three injuries. Those people have been taken to area hospitals.
The crashed happened Wilson Bay Ct. in Sanford in the Preserve at Lake Monroe subdivision. Billowing smoke could be seen for miles above the scene. Authorities were not sure if the plane was attempting a take-off or landing at Orlando-Sanford International Airport.
Federal Aviation Administration officials say the plane was flying from Daytona Beach to Sanford. Flight controllers received a report of smoke in the cockpit and the pilot declared an emergency. Shortly thereafter, the plane disappeared from radar screens.

Re: Cessna Crashed in Orlando
at least 4 injuries now - they were all from inside the house. It could be a plane that carried people from NASCAR. It is jet fueled and seats 6.
New update - possibly 2 children were hurt. One firefighter collapsed - treated for exhaustion.
New - children boy 10 and girl 4, taken to hospitals. Children were hte most seriously injured of the house occupants. I pray they are ok.
The plane did come out of a NASCAR hangar but still don't know the occupants of the plane or whether they were actually with NASCAR.
New- the boy burned over 80% of his body.

wow- the fire fighter that collapsed was off duty and went in to the house to rescue the child without an air pack. A real hero!
The young man is burned over 80-90% of his body with third degree burns. The 2 occupants of the plane have perished.
My heart goes out to the parents and everyone else involved.

they said he actually gave a thumbs up when being air lifted ( I think that is how they said they got him out) There has been no mention of the condition of the 4 yr. old so everyone let's hope and pray it isn't the worst. Hopefully she wasn't there for whatever reason if the reports are correrct the family also has a 4 yr. old daughter.

Of course you can provide a link!
This just breaks my heart. My prayers go out to the families of those who perished and to those who are injured. I can't imagine what those children and parents are going through. It's just horrible!

the plane was less than 4 miles from the airport when they crashed and they had just reported smoke in the cock pit and immediately disappeared from the screen.

In rare cases, yes. However, it usually means years of physical therapy and countless surgeries.

This 10 year old little boy was transferred to Cincinnati's Shriner's Burn Hospital. He's in excellent hands, they work miracles at this hospital. So sad though that his 4 yr old sister perished and his own parents were taken to the hospital. I'm sure he's heavily sedated if not in an induced coma, but if not I'm sure he wants his parents nearby. Again, this hospital will rally around the family for support.

Lake Mary Firefighter Says "Don't Call Me A Hero"
SANFORD, Fla. -- A Lake Mary firefighter, Wednesday, described in detail what it was like inside of a burning house. He pulled a 10-year-old boy to safety after a plane hit his home.

For the first time, the firefighter who ran into one of the burning homes to save a 10-year-old talked about his incredible ordeal.
Meanwhile, investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board were back at the scene, Wednesday afternoon. At a news conference, Wednesday morning, Sanford police said there was no change in the conditions of those injured.
Off-duty firefighter Ryan Cooper said, when he raced into a burning house, he did what any firefighter would do. Cooper was wheeled into a conference room at Central Florida Regional Hospital, Wednesday morning, flanked by staff, a fellow firefighter, Lake Mary's mayor and his wife Karen.
The first thing the Lake Mary firefighter did was express his condolences to the families of the victims is Tuesday's fiery crash at the Preserve at Lake Monroe. Cooper didn't know Milly Deshat well, but when she told Ryan that her husband and children were still inside their burning home he didn't hesitate.
The firefighter pulled out 10-year-old Daniel and his dad, who'd gone back inside for the couple's 4-year-old daughter, Gabby. The little girl didn't survive.
"For a very long time I'll be thinking about what if," Cooper said, Wednesday, "If I had an air pack on or something that could have aided my rescue. But I was there with what I had and I did what I could."
Cooper also did what he could for Janice Joseph and her 6-month-old. Cooper was able to break into the house and search a bedroom, but a second search wasn't an option. Both died in the fire.
Cooper himself breathed in a lot of smoke. Doctors at the hospital are doing toxicology tests and holding him for observation.
