Beware of Internet Puppy Scam

I've recently dug up this article from wfaa.com. This morning, news reporters of ABC affiliate WFAA-TV in Dallas has rehashed this story after 2 more victims in the DFW area followed the phony puppy ads from Nigeria. Some reported paying $1,500 of the so-called "pet carrier" and "flight" fees. That's why one of the victims is trying her best to warn others before they fall prey to these kind of scams.

Here's an excerpt from one of the fraudulent ads:

"Lovely English bulldog puppy needing a loving and caring home, full of wrinkles, she is vet and up to date on all her shots. Fine with kids and other pets, AKC and will come along with all her papers and toys, she will make the best house pet, will bring much love and joy to your home or family. Contact for more if you want to add her to your family."

You can read more about this here (aricle dated 05/29/2007).

FYI....I've seen this scam (or a very similar one) on Craigslist, as well.
