Poor Bill gates may have to cut back on the use of his private jets.

This isn't the first time. he didn't become the richest man until Sam Walton died. Then Larry Ellison from Oracle passed him for a while until Oracle's stock plummeted in 2000.

Considering how much of his money he gives away, it's a miracle his "ranking" has lasted this long . . .

I remember him and his wife donated a ton of money to Duke University years ago. It was their largest ever donation in University history.

Billions of dollars at a "normal" interest rate brings in more money than one can imagine. I beleive there was a study done when Gates was only worth maybe 8 billion and it said that if he gave away like a million a day it would take an incredible amount of for it to all go away due to the interest it would be generating.

Yeah, if he has all his money in simple interest-bearing accounts at 5% APR (of course he's making more than that, but we're being hypothetical), he'd be making 7 million dollars per day.

If I had a billion dollars I'd build sweatshops around the world to produce cheap goods for Walmart and other retailers worldwide. :flag:
