I might go over to the office and watch it there, since the office is located right across 60 from the airport. Probably wont decide until sometime Saturday. We saw the Thunderbirds 2 years ago when theywere in town. We don't really want to fight the crowds on the base to see it. Time will tell.

The crowds are bad but it's definately worth it. I'm going up today to watch them practice too. Should be fun. They were flying around yesterday while I was working. I got a couple videos. Here is one of them I uploaded to youtube.

They shock the windows in the building yesterday when they flew overhead. Probalby going to take my lunch at 1 and eat out back to watch them. We are thinking about just getting away this weekend and getting away from all the big crowds in the city, espically with the US Open, the 3 Rivers Art Fest, and the airshow. Might go up to the in-laws and escape for the weekend and come back real late Sunday night. Just depends on what we feel like doing tomorrow morning.

I have a graduation party on Saturday and Sunday I have to play "catch-up" on my yard work. So I guess I won't get to see it.

I thought the US Open would have more of an effect on the traffic in my area (Gibsonia) and on the Turnpike. It actually hasn't been too bad at all. The five car pile up yesterday created a mess on the Turnpike going into Harmarville from Monroeville, but my ride to Monroeville was fine.

Something fast and big flew over the building about 30 minutes ago and shook the building. not sure what it was as I was on the phone working with a store. The store heard the plane and ask what was going on, so I had to explain to them about the airshow and they were like, they fly that close to you guys, and I was like yup.

Could have been the C-17 or C-5 they have at the airshow. The 17 is actually doing a demo so it could've been practicing. Where are you located?

I work at Dick's corporate office....right off the McClaron Run exit. You look out from our 4th floor backside of the building, you can over look the entire airport/911 Airwing. My wife wants to go and see the Thunderbirds, so I guess we're going to venture over to the Dick's parking lot and watch them there. At least I know all the back roads out of that area, so I wont get stuck sitting in traffic as people leave the air show Saturday.

Yeah so do I. I'm getting there early and parking near the business park so I can get right out onto Bus. 60. I'm not sure where the Dick's office is. I know where Mclarren Rd. is though. Another decent spot is at the airport itself. Park in short term and go to the third level of the landside terminal and go out onto the commercial curb roadway and go to the southern edge of the building. You can see the southern runways and where the Tbirds will be spending most of their time. I watched the Blue Angels there last year on Sunday because I had to work.

Took some video today of their practice session. Only have 2 uploaded so far. Will do more tomorrow.

Most of the C130s at the airshow are from Pittsburgh. There was another from Charleston I saw on static display.

Went over and sat at work's parking lot just to see the Thunderbirds. When we saw them on the ground again, we left fairly quickly as we wanted to get up to Punxsy as fast as we could. Show was the same that they did 2 years ago. Though, with the new flight patterns they have to use, it didnt seem like they were going directly over hear this time. Which kind of stunk because two years ago, a couple of time, the jets went straight over head and you could feel the full effects of the jets going through the air.

You pretty much need to be at show center or over where the old terminal used to be to get them coming overhead. But that would mean dealing with the traffic and people. It was a good show.
