BREAKING NEWS: 6.8 Magnitude Earthquake

Got this when I was logging on to one of the local news sites:

The U.S. Geological Survey reports a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the Pacific coast of Guatemala at 2:29 p.m. CT.

There was an earthquake of 5.9 5 days earlier in almost the same spot.

The 6.8 quake is right on a Subduction zone....

Cocos plate is subducting right into the Caribbean plate..... this is purely friction of the tectonic plates which move along with the Earth's Core
