Awww, too cute.
I have never owned one personally but had one in our 3rd grade class. It was very friendly.
Have fun with it.

A friend had a pair, and she would let them out of their cage to terrorize her cats by rolling around in their giant rodent ball.

they're cute, but you cant play with them. they dont really do anything. they are nocturnal, however, so be prepared for that. you also have to give them dust baths. no kidding. good luck! oh, and be careful, they often bite.

My brother and his girlfriend have a chinchilla. They found him a nice spot in the basement outside of my bedroom. Hence, I do hear some restling going on overnight! Just keep the temperature temperate - keep the room temperature in the lower to mid 70s and provide a fan (like a small swival unit). The idea is to keep things cool. Finally, do be advised you may be seeing some interesting "items" (to be modest) on the floor around the cage's vicinity. It is mighty fun vacuming that up every week! :)

They're wonderful pets. Get a good wheel, they love to run, all damn night.

Yes it does like to nibble...Once you get him out of cage he doesn't do it...Dust baths are the funniest things I think I've seen..

What is a dust bath? I don't think I've seen one of those before.
