Britney booed @ Orlando show after CD skips

Skipping CD Ruins Brit's Lip-Synched Concert
AOL
(May 21) -- It's not much of a secret that Britney Spears and many of today's pop stars choose to lip synch while performing, but every now and then, the technology that affords them the chance to sing silently comes back to burn them.

On Saturday night during an Orlando show, Britney Spears was booed mid-show when her backing track skipped five times during the 15 minute show, MTV UK is reporting. Spears reportedly played down the incident, and kept cranking out her five-song show.

All of Spears' latest concerts, a handful of similar 15 minute gigs under the guise The M&Ms, have been lip-synched. The tour is aimed at helping Spears get her career on track following a nasty divorce from Kevin Federline which was followed by a hard-partying binge that ended with Spears -- shaved head and all -- checking into rehab.

Spears isn't the only not-really-singing star to be bitten by a skipping track. Ashlee Simpson had the world's eyes on her when the wrong backing track started playing on 'Saturday Night Live,' and pop duo Milli Vanilli had to give back their Grammy awards after a major lip-synching scandal led them to confess that they used outside singers on their album.

I was dragged to one of her concerts one time, well before all her problems started.

She missed her cue one time, making it quite obvious that she was not singing.

Shameful 2 admit this.. I used 2 be one of her biggest fans back when she came out in the mid 90s.. now I think what has happened is just sad..

Good thing the music world now has kelly clarkson, carrie underwood, and American Idol lol.. I still occasionally listen to 1 of my Britney Cd's..

Shame this happened right up the street from me pretty much.. lol.. That "House of Blues" is only about 20 minutes away lol

I wouldn't pay to go to a concert where the performer was going to lip sync. I wouldn't pay to go see Britney even if she was singing though... just never been a fan. It sure makes me appreciate Bon Jovi more. They actually SING, run around the stage, dancing and entertaining, for a few hours. I pay to see and hear them SING. They would never dream of lip-syncing. And they are awesome in concert!

I've been to a lot of concerts over the years and I would be disappointed to learn that any of them were lip-syncing.

If you can't perform live, don't tour.

I would be very disappointed if I paid that much money to see a live show and she was lip syncing. I hope the audience let her have it!!!

I can see why they lip sync... mainly because they can't sing but when they are up there doing all those dance moves, it would be harder to sing right while bouncing around and stuff. Still a disgrace.

The older and crazier she gets, the more irrelevant she becomes.

I see another (do I dare say it?)... Milli Vanilli-like situation here.

I think I'll stick with Tori and The Beatles. George Martin was/is such an incredible producer.

*listens to the "new" Love CD"
