These new stamps will not have a value marked. You buy them at the current cost for first class postage and the stamp will be good for any time in the future even if rates go up again. People can stock up on them now to avoid paying higher prices for stamps in the future. When prices go up in the future, the same stamp would then sell for the new rate. The need for 1 or 2 cent stamps would ne eliminated for the transitions.

A neat little piece of marketing if you ask me. But I think a better name would be the "Whatever" stamp.

I just never use stamps anymore. I pay all my bills online. Maybe I use a stamp a couple times a year at the most, so I still have a roll that will last me forever.

what a great idea! i wonder why they didnt think of that sooner. there's nothing more annoying than having to buy those 1 and 2 cent stamps!

we have had the *forever stamp* in canada for a few months now. its called the *permanent * stamp, and was printed originally to save money ironically. Since postage rates go up by 1c on average, Canada post had to print 60 million 1-cent stamps following a price increase in 2005.

This elimanates that problem.

They are already for sale at the Post Office. They are selling @ the 41 cent rate. They have a picure of the Liberty Bell on them. I picked up 2 packets of 20 stamps.

People simply will not stock up on stamps as some might think. We've had first and second class stamps here for all my life as far as I know and they can be used whenever you want.
