I was washing windows last night and they were cloudy. I'll try the vinegar.

I once got a kitten from the pound. It was black, but so filthy it looked brown. Was completely covered in fleas, I had never seen anything like it. Anyway, the people at the Rescue told me the easiest, cheapest thing to use on it was Dawn dish soap. Apparently, it dissolves the protective grease-like coating that protects the fleas, and kills them. Worked like a charm after a couple of baths (the poor thing was totally covered!). That was about 10 years ago and I have never had to take a pet in for a flea dip since then.

I have stainless steel appliances in my kitchen. I use WD40 to clean them all on the outside. They sparkle to no end and it cleans so much better than the products that came with the appliances.

Wow Janice!!! I have all stainless steel appliances and have all that special spray which streaks!!! I'll try WD40. Does it leave an oily film?

No, just buff with a dry rag when done and it will shine like new. It will not hurt the appliances at all.

I can attest to the hairspray for ink marks, with 3 kids I have used it many times and it works.
I don't use aerosol as stated above just the pump kind. A couple pumps on the mark and you can see it breaking it up immediately and then I toss in the wash.

For windows I like cornstarch & water. Make a bucket of water, I out in maybe a half-cup corn starch, mix it real well, clean the window with that then with a lint free cloth just dry it off really well. I think that shine is a lot better than the vinegar one, it's great oin the inside of my car, takes all the nicotine right off

I have a lot of professional animal care experience and I can add one thing to this. Dawn and Joy dishwashing detergents are the ONLY products you should ever use to wash your pets, unless otherwise prescribed by your veterinarian. Most pet shampoos are too harsh for their skin.

Couple of tips on stainless steel cleaning/polishing is that anything "Oil-Based" will give a great shine, BUT will attract dirt and dust quickly. Anything "Water-Based" will clean up the surface nicely, won't shine as much, but will typically stay clean longer. I cant stand the smell of WD-40. I use Stainless Steel Magic or Windex and both are terrific. If you get any of the WD40 on the floor, make sure you clean it up or you'll fall on your heinie.

Ink marks on walls before repainting. (got kids?)

Cover them with white out correction fluid. With any other primer or other product I ever tried the ink always bleeds through. White out is intended to cover ink. It's cheap too.

WD40 is used in professional restraunts, etc. I have even heard school cafeteries use it. I have bought several cleaners for stainless steel and also used Windex and they do not clean or shine like WD40 does. I believe one ingredient of WD40 is fish oil. I use oils to clean all my home. Murphy's Oil is great on cupboards. Just my opinion.

the Mr. Clean miracle sponges are awesome. i dont know how they work, but they do. amazing things.
