I never knew Storm2K was 38 years old!

I noticed this script error fifteen minutes ago. Look at the date and time for the latest post in Talkin Tropics.
The date is December 31, 1969. The time is 8:00 p.m. EDT.
The error has been fixed. Was a script virus responsible for this issue?

That's the so-called "beginning of the epoch" in Unix (and hence also linux). Dates are stored as a long integer, and a value of 0 corresponds to midnight January 1, 1970 UTC.

This site has been around longer than I have! Although you'd think Talking Tropics would have gotten some posts since 1969.
