If you could get into a box and go back in time, where would you go? Maybe you want to go a couple hundred years in the future to see what is going on.

I would go into the future, if at all, because I don't want to change anything which caused me, though its a deep philosophical problem to realize an amazingly complex assortment of goods and evils allow us to exist.

nope, no interest in time travel. every era had it's problems. i'm content to stay here. now if i could live forever, like a vampire, that would be totally different. that, i would do.

I wonder what Heidegger and Husserl would say about this?

I would go into the future because I want to see how I turn out. I would also like to see if I ever get married and have a family and how my mom does (she has a few health problems). Then I would come back to THIS time and change what I need to change and visit my family more if they die sooner than expected. Thats what i would do. This way I would know how much time each member of my family has and even though it would tear me up inside to know when they die I can at least make the best of my time.

I'd travel to Saturday night, 10:59 P.M. and get the lottery numbers.

I would go back in time to visit with my GGGGG Grandfather at his castle in Prussia and also to Scotland in 1715 ti visit the ancestral farm my family had. I would also go back to meet my father's birth parents and my grandfather on my mothers side since they all died long before I was born.

I would also travel into the future because what may happen in the future technology wise fascinates me. I guess I want to have my cake and eat it too.

Are you sure you really want that information? I know this is a joke/fantasy sort of thread, but having such information is bound to drive one mad. Besides, you'd have to make multiple trips back and forth to cover every conceivable path your life could take...and you couldn't possibly foresee all of the permutations.

It is interesting to play with the concept of time.

If I could, I would travel back in time to see my grandparents many years before they passed away.

1715 Scotland... wasn't that the time of the first Jacobite Rising? Not a good time to visit!

It would be fun to go back and actually watch them build a pyramid.

I'd go and tell Copernicus he was right.

I'd also like to meet DaVinci.

I would go back in time to when my mother was alive, and when my great grandmother was alive. I barely remember her. Her daughter, my grandmother, is still living.
