What's the latest? Are you okay? Please check in when you can.

My thoughts are with you and the families and friends of the firefighters and pilot on board as well as with everyone still fighting the fire. I hope you're okay.

PHOENIX - A helicopter carrying three elite firefighters crashed Saturday morning, killing one firefighter and the pilot and injuring the other two on board, officials said.

The identities of the two who died were not immediately known, said Mike Todd, a spokesman for Native Air Ambulance. The injured crew members were transported to hospitals, where they were listed in stable condition Saturday night.

The contract helicopter was taking firefighters from the Bureau of Indian Affairs to begin an initial attack on a fire in the Aspen Ridge area, said Margo Whitt, a fire information officer. The helicopter crashed about 175 miles northeast of Phoenix

Thanks for your concern duck........but as Stephanie said, I am not a fire fighter, my wife and I are the K9 Search and Rescue Coordinators and reserve police officers for the White Mountian Apache Police Dept......we assist with search and rescue ops, used as backup officers when warrented.

Yes indeed, another tragedy for the WMAT......I didn't see your post, I too posted a link to the article in todays Az Republic.

Once again.......many thanks for your concern!

Dennis

Thanks for the reply, Stephanie, and you're welcome, Dennis.

Yeah, I knew you weren't a firefighter. But you know how the media can be off sometimes when it comes to details, especially with victims of tragedies. Sometimes they don't get all the facts straight the first time.

Glad to know you're okay.

Glad you're OK too Dennis. I'd be deeply saddened if it was you, and had I heard about this sooner.

I never knew that, Dennis...sounds pretty cool...but it's NOT cool what is going on these days out there. :( Prayers and Thoughts are with the residents in that area.
