Two planes crash off south Florida within 12 hours; all dead

Wow. These accidents happened within 12 hours!

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/ ... -headlines

These are two separate incidents. At least three people are dead in the Florida Keys crash and five (possibly six) persons are missing in the crash between Fort Lauderdale and the Bahamas. The small plane in the Keys hit a wire that was tethering a blimp to the ground, and the causes of the crash off Fort Lauderdale are uncertain at the moment.

This is incredible. We have had at least three crashes (including the Blue Angels jet in South Carolina) within the past 24 hours, and all of the accidents may have been fatal to at least one person. This is an incredibly unfortunate day (and month). We have had the Virginia Tech shootings, numerous threats, and we now have three potentially deadly plane crashes within a single day.

:(

Although rescue efforts are continuing for the Fort Lauderdale crash, all five people on board are believed to be dead (per the Coast Guard). All three people in the Cudjoe Key crash are dead.

Everyone on each of the planes has apparently not survived.

We have had three deadly plane crashes within 24 hours (including the dead pilot from the South Carolina Blue Angels crash). This is depressing and sad.

Some other bad months include July 2005 (Dennis, Emily, 7/7 bombings), September 2005 (Katrina and Rita) and September 2001.
