Alec Baldwin calls daughter quote: Thoughtless little pig
Alec Baldwin's Threatening Message to Daughter

An enraged Alec Baldwin unleashed a volcanic tirade of threats and insults on his 11-year-old daughter, Ireland, calling her a "thoughtless little pig," and bashing her mother Kim Basinger -- and TMZ has obtained the whole thing unfiltered and raw. And we've learned, a family law judge was so alarmed after hearing the tape, she has temporarily barred Baldwin from having any contact with his child.
After Ireland failed to answer her father's scheduled phone call from New York on April 11, Alec went berserk on her voice mail, saying "Once again, I have made an a** of myself trying to get to a phone," adding, "you have insulted me for the last time."
Switching his train of thought, Baldwin then exercised his incredible parenting skills and took a shot at his ex-wife, declaring, "I don't give a da** that you're 12-years-old or 11-years-old, or a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the a-- who doesn't care about what you do." The irate Baldwin went on to say, "You've made me feel like s**t" and threatened to "straighten your a** out."
"This crap you pull on me with this godd*** phone situation that you would never dream of doing to your mother," screamed Baldwin, "and you do it to me constantly over and over again."
Before hanging up, Baldwin warned the child, "You better be ready Friday the 20th to meet with me." That's tomorrow.
We've learned that on Wednesday, Los Angeles County Superior Court commissioner Maren Nelson heard the tape and temporarily suspended Baldwin's visitation rights. A hearing is set for May 4, where the judge could permanently deny Baldwin visitation or contact with Ireland.
Calls to Basinger's attorneys, celebrity lawyers Neal Hersh and Judy Bogen, were not returned.
Baldwin's lawyer, Vicki Greene, told TMZ, "Whatever happened yesterday was sealed and confidential. What you're telling me you've got you shouldn't have."

Angry Baldwin calls daughter 'rude, thoughtless little pig'
By SANDY COHEN

LOS ANGELES — The festering bad blood between movie-star exes Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger erupted Thursday when an angry phone message from Baldwin to his daughter was made public.
On the recording, Baldwin can be heard berating his 11-year-old, Ireland, "You are a rude, thoughtless little pig."
"You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being," he says, apparently upset that she did not answer her phone for a planned call.
"I don't give a da** that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you're a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the a** who doesn't care about what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone."
He goes on to say that he plans to fly from New York to Los Angeles "for the day just to straighten you out on this issue."
The recording was published by celebrity news site TMZ.com, which said that the call was placed on April 11.
Baldwin's spokesman said in a statement Thursday that, "in the best interest of the child," the 49-year-old actor "will do what the mother is pathologically incapable of doing ... keeping his mouth shut and obeying the court order.
"The mother and her lawyer leaked this sealed material in violation of a court order," the statement continued. "Although Alec acknowledges that he should have used different language in parenting his child, everyone who knows him privately knows what he has been put through for the past six years."
"The voice mail speaks for itself," Basinger's spokeswoman said.
Calls to Basinger's and Baldwin's attorneys were not returned.
Baldwin and Basinger, 53, were married in 1993. They have been involved in prolonged legal disputes over custody and other issues since she filed for divorce in 2001, which was granted in 2002. The couple's differences have been aired several times in public.
Basinger was charged with contempt of court in October for violating terms of a 2004 custody agreement. A motion by her lawyers to dismiss the charges was denied Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. The next hearing on visitation issues is scheduled for May 4.

Why is this news again? I could care less for this, except, of course, the child is suffering, as usual.
I mean, perhaps she forgot to call her dad. 11 year olds are notoriously absent minded. He had no business snapping at her like that.

okay, hold on a sec, having been in a very similar situation before, you're only hearing one side of the story and probably a mere snapshot of it at best. 11/12 year old girls can also be very obnoxious, nasty, and inhumane creatures. heck, i seriously considered sending mine off to a convent (where they had taken vows of silence) until she turned 18.
why a personal phone call-gone-wrong to a daughter has any place in the news is beyond me. it's nobody's business but his, his daughter's, and his ex-wife's....

Someone released it to the media... I think that's one issue.

from msnbc:
Baldwin apologizes for voice-mail rant
‘I have been driven to the edge,’ actor says in wake of tirade with daughter
Updated: 2 hours, 26 minutes ago
LOS ANGELES - As Alec Baldwin’s angry words to his daughter were being broadcast around the world, the 49-year-old actor explained himself Friday on his Web site.
“Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a child,” he wrote. “I’m sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you never do.) I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case.”
A voice mail Baldwin left for his 11-year-old daughter, in which he can be heard calling her “a rude, thoughtless little pig,” was published Thursday by celebrity news site TMZ.com.
Baldwin and his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, have been engaged in bitter custody disputes over their daughter, Ireland, since the couple divorced in 2002.
“In such public cases, your opponents attempt to take a picture of you on your worst day and insist that this is who you are as a person,” Baldwin wrote. “Outside the doors of divorce court, I have friends, I have respect from people I work with, and I have a normal relationship with my daughter. All of that is threatened whenever one enters a courtroom.”
Meanwhile, Baldwin’s attorney, Vicki Greene, said she filed a court order Friday “to determine how the tape got leaked and to determine whether actions should be taken again Kim Basinger, or her attorneys, or Harvey Levin (who runs TMZ.com) and anybody else associated with the leaking of the tape and the violation of the court orders to keep the proceedings closed.”
Greene told TV’s “The Insider” that “anyone involved in this case should want to protect Ireland, so whatever happened was either intentional, reckless or negligent.”
The matter is set for a hearing June 5, Greene said.
Basinger’s attorney, Neal Hersh, weighed in the family saga Friday on TMZ.com.
“I am concerned that Mr. Baldwin’s recent statement, wherein he attempts to shift responsibility to Kim and her lawyers for his issues with Ireland, shows just how out of touch he is with the reality and gravity of the situation,” Hersh said.
Basinger’s spokeswoman had no comment Friday.

The sad thing about all this, like many divorces, the children are in the middle. Parents use their kids as bait against the other, turning the child away from the other parent. The kids are smart too, they catch on and sometimes take advantage of the situation. Yes, we only know one side of this story. I really doubt that the child is abused at all. Also, we do not know what she hears from her mother too. Bad marriages are bad when there are children involved. Maybe this girl has heard fighting all her life. Too bad................kids are tough tho. May parents fought on a daily basis. I hated it, but I survived. Maybe that made me stronger, just knowing I wouldn't live that way.

NO 11 year old should be talked to in this manner. They're childen!!! Maybe they can manipulate. They are still children. Parents need to deal with this crap with each other - without getting the kids involved. Children should be talked to in a different tone and in person. You want to be able to hug them after you tell them how you feel!!!! I was a single parent from the time my kids were 9 and 11 and it CAN be handled in a different way even with kids that try to take advantage of the situation. Wake up, both these parents need to raise this child to feel he or she is loved. Right now I feel Alex Baldwin is a jerk!!

I agree 100%!
I would have to hit my brothers if they talked to their daughters like that. Who cares what the girl did. She didn't deserve that from her father.
I have seen my brothers go thru separations and divorce with kids. It's not a pretty sight.

Both parents have issues and I'm sure, lile alicia said, there's two sides to every story. HOWEVER, I agree 100% with you Pburgh that she's 11 YEARS OLD and while I know from my own childhood that I was obnoxious at times, especially in my teen years, a tirade like that would've scared the heck out of me and made me feel very upset.
