Does anyone know of free virus and anti-spyware checker... I moved recently and lost my Freedom-Antivirus, provided by Adelphia. Freedom was awesome and I never had any problems, but now it's just problems, problems and more problems.

Thanks... I'm going to try those out and see what happens. I couldn't be any worse than Free Norton Trial from yahoo...

AVG rocks. Windows Defender does a nice job.

You should use more than one spyware program. One program doesn't get it all.

Avoid Norton. I have never used it. But I've heard it is a memory and resource hog.

I use Spybot and Ewido. Both are free. Be sure to check for updates before you run them. If you're very brave and computer savvy, you can also run HijackThis. Be very careful not to delete anything essential with the last program. There is a forum I use to check which programs are safe to delete and if you like, I'll try to dig up the link for you. I agree 100% with Lurker...always use more than one program.

Here is another free virus scanner: Avast

Also, you might want to download Zone Alarm. It's free. It doesn't hurt to have a firewall.

It is...

I swear it slows down my whole system.

I do use Adware as well by Lavasoft.
