Those sunset pictures were eerie!
The second cloud plume looked like the buildup of a thunderhead. Amazing photso Dennis!

Stephanie, it was indeed VERY EERIE to say the least, we were next door at our friends house sitting outside and watching the smoke settle in, just about that time, the sky turned a DARK, DARK Orange as you can see.......everything was orange!
Amanzi......the straw is used to keep the soil from any further erosion plus it holds the moisture in to aid the newly thrown grass seed in germination. We laid over 2000 bales of straw that day.........the effort is STILL underway and it's been over a year now!!

Thought-provoking pics Dennis! Somehow.....being simply a "human being" seems a little insignificant. No amount of knowlege can change some things.
I got back to Michigan late last night. I'm so sorry the opportunity to meet you and Michelle did not come about.....remembering your nurturing and gentle posts from "another board" made me excited to meet you two!
My sister had pics from the "Cherry Fire" that burned within a mile from their home in the mountains of Dewey. Several firemen "set up" at their home.....just in case. I could not believe the blackness of those beautiful mountains outside their back door. She's noticed an abundance of critters at the "watering hole" they set up for wild life. So many rabbits, quail, and birds! Even spotted several lizzards......and....(gulp) a few snakes! Nature does have a way of replenishing herself..........just wish the rain would find its way to Arizona!.............p

Thanks......I am SO glad it's over, well, it's STILL burning BUT.......it's now a controled burn. Mrschad....yes indeed, it was so intense watching the plumes build then collapse and feel the outflow.
Petal, I know......how I wish our lunch date would have materialized but, Ma Nature was in control and there's nuthin' we can do about it!
The rains........."phhhft!" we've had 2 decent rains, we're almost thru with July and we are 6.90" behind ALREADY..........I too, feel like the Apaches, it's almost like God is punishing us, I KNOW better than that BUT..........
BTW.........there's another new album up, just finished it, it's of our ever so humble little abode!
