Anyone catch this new show's pilot tonight? WOW! I have a brand new favorite drama. Don't worry Brent, it will not replace Lost but my gosh, if this show continues to be as cutting edge, fast paced, terrifically acted by a huge ensemble cast, as it was in its premiere episode, then it will be firmly planted among my weekly must-see-TV-shows. Yes indeed.
And it didn't hurt my Friends fave alum stars in this new show - Matthew Perry. It's nice to have you back "Chandler"!
Comments anyone? Curious to see if anyone caught it.
Mary
PS - this is the show I'm talking about:

I watched it, but I'm not sure what to think yet. I kept dozing off during it(not good), and wasn't really impressed, but I'm going to re-watch it sometime in the next few days. The hype around the show has been incredible and I don't want to give up so early.

Brent - please rewatch it. The action moves so quickly. I think I'll want to see the pilot again before the second episode.
I've read some of the hype about this show. The creator said he's always wanted to do a show about a live comedy show like Saturday Night Live, but from a behind the scenes point of view. What it takes to put it on each week. I say why not! I'll watch it each week.
I will be very tired on Tuesdays though......LOL What a way to start my week, we have 3 hours of shows now on Monday nights!

LOL, I have 3 hours of shows from tonight still to watch(not counting anything I re-watch), and I watched 3 hours live.
I was just checking some other boards and the reviews are mixed. It seems people either love it or hate it, nothing in between. I think this might be another criticially acclaimed but pretty low-rated show(though the ratings tonight should be huge).

Brent - did you catch Felicity Huffman's cameo? That was pretty cool. Didn't expect that.
Well, we liked it - a lot. And will add it to our weekly show lineup. It's funny, I was so-so about new show The Class. That is until Studio 60...... premiered. I want to say The Class who? LOL Eh, but that show (the class) could grow on me.

At 10 p.m., the season premiere of "CSI: Miami" scored the night's biggest audience with an 11.2/17. "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" averaged a decent 8.6/14 for NBC
but lost a significant number of viewers in its second half-hour. ABC was third with "Supernanny," 4.8/8.
Yes, I caught the Felicity Huffman cameo. I thought that was the best part of the show.

I enjoyed the show very much and look forward to following it all year.
Taped "The Class" so we'll see how I like it.
Did not like How I Met your Mother after a few episodes last year and it seemed to be a hit so I do have a tendecy to quit on shows that don't impress me.

I'm a diehard CSI:Miami watcher, and it was killing me that this new show was on opposite of CSI, but after watching the premeire last night, I think I'm going back to my CSI people. Hubby and I both felt Studio 60 was ok, but I don't think it lived up to the hype put on by NBC, personally. Of course, it was created by the same guy who did "West Wing" and we were never really into that show either, so it could be this guy's style that we don't like....
Anyway...gotta get my Netflix DVD's of "Lost" in here so I can catch up real quick

I thought the second episode, a Cold Open, was quite good. The pace didn't feel as fast as the pilot did though, if that makes any sense. We watched the Pilot live even though it was being recorded on the DVR. We didn't start last night's show until past 10:30 (big homework load for our high school aged daughter). While the pace was fast, last week's pilot just seemed to fly by, didn't even feel like an hour long show! It's safe to say this is my favorite show of the new ones we've tried so far (The Class isn't).
Comments anyone? The clock was the best part of the show, I though! And you knew Matt Albie/Matthew Perry was going to look at it, right before credits rolled....LOL

NBC

Yeah, I've missed this show. Tuned in b/c Matthew Perry stars in it, loved it immediately and now I equally watch b/c of Bradley Whitford (heart be still, could he be my new George Clooney, stranger things have happened!).
Don't miss it! (and in response to any other S60 questions, NBC decided to give it a full season, despite the fact it got off to a slow start and has direct comp from 30 Rock).
Mary
PS - if anyone wants to catch up on past episodes, Bravo is airing a 4 episode marathon, starting at 1 p.m. today (EST).

Thanks for the reminder Brent. We programmed our DVR to record these episodes. It's a shame this show didn't make it. We really enjoyed it.
