This sad and tragic story was mentioned on my local Cincinnati news channels tonight. If you're traveling through Indiana, on major interstates, be very careful. I hope they catch this sniper.

That's even wilder than what happened in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area yesterday.

Stooge - driving on interstates can be dangerous! We take so much for granted don't we? I've driven this I 65 but thru Kentucky. It's a well paved highway, many exits and good rest stops. You just think you're safe from such things - snipers and crazy people. I'm always aware of weaving cars (usually they're yacking on a cell) but hostage and sniper situations just don't enter your mind.

Reminds me of a few years ago when there was a sniper along I-70 near Columbus, OH.
During my early grade school years my folks, sister and I often traveled through Seymour, IN (but along Route #50) among other southern Indiana towns when we went to see my maternal grandmother who then at the time resided not too far north of Evansville.

it reminds me way too much of the DC sniper. I may be driving through Indiana come sometime in August/ September... hopefully this person is caught by then

Glad the sniper suspect has been caught and jailed!

I've also traveled several times through Brownstown, IN where he's being held.

I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps it was last year? I don't think that they caught that sniper. I'm just glad that they caught the perpetrator in this case.

The charged and arrested teen's grandmother has now been arrested too - for obstructing justice. Sad, sad story all around. In another article I read, the teen stated he never wanted to shoot anyone when he got angry, after hunting and was just shooting at trucks. Another neighbor said he just needed someone to listen to him. The grandparents have been raising him. Normally I'd say throw the book at whoever targets cars but in this case, but this young man sounds so mixed up. I don't know what the answer is. At the very least he needs serious help.

I hadn't heard that yet yoda. Do you have any news links for us? Wonder if it's a copycat?
