Ack, I'm running out of time! LOL

Caught a live performance of his with the new (17 piece!) band on GMA yesterday morning, and I went and downloaded the album within hours - I was impressed!

Now, let me preface this by saying I've never owned a Bruce Springsteen album in my life. I was a little thing when he was in his heyday, and the recent stuff hasn't appealed to me much (political agreement notwithstanding).

But this album is fantastic! I love it that all the songs were recorded in one take, and that all the musicians were playing in the same room (or, in the horn sections case, in the hallway). Its got so much energy and its so REAL - both things I really value in music.

More later .... but I was curious to see if anyone else has heard it....???

I heard "Jacob's Ladder" on XM satellite radio the other day and loved it. The local (West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale) newspaper reviews of the CD were both rated "A." Bruce remains the Boss! :D

I gave each song a sampling on Itunes last night. Some of it sounds a bit too bluegrass-y for me (No offense, Garrett! :) ). But I did like "Erie Canal" and found it amusing to hear someone other than the grizzly Mr. Edwards on Little House on the Prairie singing "Old Dan Tucker."

Unlike you, I have owned three Boss albums ("Greetings From Asbury Park," "Born In The U.S.A.," and "Tunnel Of Love" - four if you count the Greatest Hits album) and I've been to concert twice.

I probably won't buy this one, but thanks for getting my curiosity up enough to check it out. :)
