I think it will be ok. We had to get used to the origional cast. John is a powerful personality, he can pull it through. Put a little grey in his hair. J. Lo seems a little young for that mother role to me though. It should be a great movie.

I think John Travolta will be perfect for that part. Remember how good he was as a bad guy in Broken Arrow, Pulp Fiction and Get Shorty?? JLo is playing Sue Ellen . I think she might be a good fit too.

J Lo....ACK, god that woman is ugly.
I can see John Travolta as a bad guy. He does it well. And you forgot Battlefield Earth!!!

I like John Travolta. Don't really mind J. Lo either. I just know Mary was a Dallas nut

J Lo is a good actress though. There must have been some reason they cast her instead of someone else.
It will be interesting to see the other people they have chosen for parts. I am excited. I was addicted to the series.
With all the other actors and the plot, I am sure J.Lo will just be another actor in the movie and will not steal the limelight.

dallas, the movie. good grief, i saw a commercial for Poseidon yesterday. it looks just as hoaky as the original. what's next, the reincarntion of falconcrest? (though its painful and humiliating to admit, i'd watch that one. where's lorenzo lamas now....)

At least Angelina Jolie is not in this movie. Heavens if she was - Barbara Bel Geddes would be rolling over in her grave! Not that she'd play Miss Ellie. So I guess I'll take J Lo.
I haven't even decided if I'll see this movie or not.
I have nothing against Travolta, it's just that when I think of him, I think of many of his already successful movies - not JR Ewing!
Sunny - you're right, I was a major Dallas nut. Dallas is only my #2 favorite TV show of all time! LOL

Honestly I can't see "J. Lo" pulling off this role. Then again, she is trying to go mainstream.
Travolta I can handle...
Then again a "Dallas" movie isn't calling for a Meryl Streep type actress either

Travolta and Newton-John may re-team for Gurinder Chadha's 'Dallas'
By ANI
Thursday April 12, 05:44 PM
Washington, Apr 12 (ANI): It is quite likely that fans will get to see 'Grease' stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John together on-screen after around 30 years in the upcoming flick Dallas.
The English born Australian singer/actress is in talks to land the role of Pamela Ewing, in the movie remake of the hit eighties soap opera.
Travolta, who played Danny Zuko in the 1978 musical, has already signed up to play J.R. Ewing.
If Newton-John gets the part, she will be playing Travolta's on-screen sister-in-law.
Travolta revealed that Newton-John was excited about the idea of working together once again in the serial's remake.
"We've had talks and I think she'd be great playing Pam Ewing. She loved the TV version and was delighted with the idea too. The movie should get shooting later in the year," Contactmusic quoted Travolta, as saying.
The movie will be directed by 'Bend it like Beckham' director Gurinder Chadha. (ANI)
