With the ad's on tv....a show of force that was unprecidented, 12 officers from PLPD, 7 NCSO Deputies, 5 AZDPS Officers, 13 SLPD Officers, we "hooked up" 36 EXTREME DUI's and wrote a total of 72 DUI tickets. The 36 were actually booked and sent to county jail, the other 36 received DUI tickets and were released to another party (because our jail was FULL 8-) )

You would THINK that with the consequences in Arizona (90 day suspended drivers license along with a 90 day suspended vehicle registration, a 100% increase in insurance, 30 days in the county jail *depends on the judge* and a $1500 fine for the FIRST offense) and NUMEROUS other problems that go along with a DUI, that these people would NOT drink and drive but ya know what?..........................."Oh WELL!"

Dennis 8-)

Good job! They had a few checkpoints here in Hampton as well with the main focus catching drunks. Went thru one with a Hampton address on my license and a Newport News sticker..(havent gotten around to going to City Hall since I moved) and merely got told to get a sticker. Normally its a ticket. I dont know how many drunks went to the Graybar Motel,

Thanks gang......I can ONLY imagine what the "drunk tank" in Holbrook at the county jail smelled like New Years Day

Some amazing facts, we had MORE DUI arrests than the GREATER Phoenix METRO area had (per captia that is!) The highest BAC? We had a "Illegal Alien" blow a .27%.......that's 3 TIMES the legal limit, I'm surprised he was still coherant!!!! Needless to say, with the BAC he blew AND no Green Papers, he's BACK in Mexico where he NEEDS to be :grr:

Good work, Dennis! I was here at home, suckin' cobwebs off
of the ceiling, at midnight on New Year's Eve! I even hear that
there were loud fireworks, a block away, at midnight... :?:

ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz......!!!

Congratulations Dennis on a job well done. I went out and drank on New Years Eve but we had 2 people in our party that did not drink.. So we were able to take 2 cars with designated drivers.
