Both of my great-grandma's on my mom's side lived to be 99. My grandpa's oldest sister is 99 now. She turns 100 on June 27th which is only 2 days after my birthday. This great-aunt of mine did not give up driving until age 95. And even though she is nearly blind and can't hardly hear, she still will sometimes go out to bars. She dances and shoots pool. And on her birthday just a couple of years ago, she rode on a Harley Davidson. And get this her AUNT is still ALIVE! She is 107 and just recently went into a nursing home in Thibodaux. And still can remember events of more than 50 years ago. I hope this is in my genes!

That is amazing cajungal. Great genes over there. Heres to many more birthdays in your family. 8-)

My grandma on my dads side is 93 and counting. She is still very active and just retired about 4-5 years ago. She also still drives although I don't know if I agree with it. I really do hope it is in my genes as well. Alot of people say I look like her so maybe. :D

My father's mother's mother lived to be 98 and my mother's father passed away at 96.

My father's father passed away at 75, my mother's mom was 83 and I think my father's mom was 81.

My maternal grandmother is still alive, and she is 92 years old. She has had to suffer the loss of all three of her daughters before she passes. My mother was her oldest daughter and she passed on Dec31, 2003, her sister died on March 2 , 2000 and her youngest daughter died when I was a child.

My grandma lived to her 80s, and my grandpa on my dad's side is in his late 70s. My stepdad's folks are still in their 60's. Don't know my mom's parents' ages.

I agree with OTown, cajungal - you got some good genes
going on in that family!

My Daddy's only sister lived to be 96. She had to be tough
to put up with six brothers!

The longest-lived member of my family that I've been able to ascertain is my paternal grandmother, who died in 1972 at the age of 91.

The oldest in my family tree is my ggggggrandmother, Martha Shuffield. She was born about 1751. She married William Allen, a Revolutionary War veteran, in 1769. She died 27 Nov. 1847. Various records have her age at death between 97 and 104. Recently, my grandmother, Sallie Allen, died at 91.

Both my maternal and paternal sides had family that lived to the early 90's...and most (each came from large families) made it well into their 80's. My grandparents all made it past 75...which, considering they were born in the 1800's was no small fete.

Although I lost my mom to a stroke when she was just 56, my dad will be 91 next year and is looking forward to another 100+ rounds of golf like he has done every year for the last 30 or so. He only plays 9 holes since he hit 88, but still walks the entire course and does not use a cart.

I have five years to go before I even reach the age when he started playing the game!!

I'm happy to wake up each morning, but I'd like to think I might be as active as he is for at least three decades more!

I have an aunt thats about 80. Both my grandparents lived into their 80's Unfortunatley only 2 of their 9 children have made it to 80 and one of them ..my Uncle Joe is already gone. My dad died this year at age 75 and my Uncle Eddie died last year in his early 70's. An aunt..Elena..died in 1994 in her 60's. Seems my grandparents had longer life spans than their children so far.

There is a strange pattern in my family, where most members die at age 77. My grandmother broke the pattern, however, and is now living at age 78.
