Cable One truck stolen; man jailed

A man accused of fleeing police in a stolen Cable One truck from Biloxi was held on $200,000 bond after his arrest in Ocean Springs.
Biloxi police said a Cable One employee witnessed the theft Tuesday afternoon from the company parking lot on Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Police disabled all four tires with spike strips. Neville Brooks Lane, 30, of Huntsville, Ala., was charged with grand larceny, felony evasion and two counts of auto burglary.
Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain set bond for the felony counts at $50,000 each. Lane also is charged with possession of paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Ocean Springs resident Bill Furlow, who witnessed the pursuit from a parking lot, said the truck at one point appeared to head for the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge.
"I figured he wasn't local," Furlow said. "No one who lives here is going to try to outrun the cops on the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge."
The bridge has been out of use since Hurricane Katrina crumpled it like an accordion.
