How many here visit a casino?

My powerball fever thread got me wondering something, how many here gamble at a casino? I do, ONCE a month, no more, no less. Our local casino puts on ONE HECKUVA seafood buffet on Friday nights, ALL the king crab, shrimp, FRESH oysters on the half shell, clams (steamed and fried) you can eat for $11.95. ANYWAY......I take a 20$ bill, split it with Michelle and when it's gone, that's IT!! NOW....our last visit, last Friday, I won $250 on 75 CENTS

SERIOUSLY, I dropped my LAST 3 quarters in a machine as I was heading out, hit 1000 quarters........I took the money and RAN

"Oh Lawd, take the money and run!"

When I was 12, I walked through the casino on our cruise ship. Oh boy, what a thrill! That is the only time you will be me in one.

Thanks to my first (and so far, only) trip to Vegas and a slot machine at Binion's Horseshoe Casino, I won enough money to move down here.
Since then, I've been once to Lake Charles and once to Harrah's in NOLA (mostly for the all-you-can-eat buffett -- king crab legs!)
No casinos down here, although there used to be the famous (but illegal) ones.
No Powerball here either.

I work at one 5 days a week. I just reached my 10th Anniversary on October 2. I do like to go gambling every once in a while. I love to play Blackjack!

The closest I ever got to a casino was when Fargo (ND) threw out nude dancing, and instituted "$2.00 per bet" blackjack in the bars, back in 1982.
Betting in a casino is like riding a tiger...the odds are always with the house (and you end up in the tiger's belly), so why bother?

I have to ask, since you have mentioned Grand Forks, and now Fargo in your posts - did you live up here at one time? I live about 40 miles NE of Fargo.

Several years ago my hubby and I went to the casinos in Biloxi, Miss while we were visiting daughter . My hubby won several hundred dollars playing the quarter slot machine. I played the nickel slots and I took home 10.00 more than I brought with me to play with. I wish we could have gone back before the hurricanes deystroyed the casinos though.

We will be back and better than ever....they estimate about 12-18 months if that long. Some are now going on shore (within 800 yards of the water) so will be even better.
So plan to take another trip back up here in about a year!

Nope, didn't quite win the jackpot, but I busted the machine and got to stand there and wait for a casino employee to bring me the rest of my dough while all the little lights kept flashing.

It was cool!

Casino Morongo out near Palm SPrings, California. Went down there, and put 5 bucks in a slot machine, came out with the $2,500 jackpot. Went back the next week, and put $1 in the same machine, and won $250. Havent been back since, but plan to go soon.

Dennis,
Can I have some of your luck?

My husband and I like to gamble once in a while, but any more than $20-$25 a piece and we start freaking out!! We still haven't checked out the casino here, but my mom and gram will probably drag us there when they come here for the holidays!!

The cruises are rigged big time...Heres something to remember, a few helpful hints. It's not about luck, its HOW, and WHERE you play...
Slot machines that are in rows. You must ALWAYS play the outside slots. Not the ones in the middle between everyone. The outside ones payout more, and payout bigger 1000X more than the middle ones. This is because the slots there are visible to traffic walking past you. The casino wants them to see you are a winner...
Percentage payouts.
Slots in Vegas Pay out 89%
Slots on Indian Reservations pay out 68%
Cruises 51%
If you get a double win of a moderate amount in 10 minutes, dont expect to win again for another $50
If you get a double win of a small amount 3 times in 9 pulls, you must keep playing, it's about to payout.

I work real hard, lose plenty of sleep, and get plenty of pot shots for the $$$ I earn, but I have been known to pull a few one armed bandits.
In Vegas this spring, spent about $100 over three days, and that was it.
My wife likes blackjack and can play quite a while on $40 bucks or so.
While I was waiting at the table to learn how to play, I threw down $20. It disappeared so fast I didn't bother sitting down when the chance came.
Been to Vegas about 4 times in the last eight years. Two on business. Two for pleasure. 0 return on investment.
We have casinos just down the street from us, but I just pass on by every day.
Not a gamblin' man.
I did have $5 in the powerball with all my fellow employees. I told them I didn't want to be the only one to show up to work if they won!

Last time we were in Vegas, 4 years ago, my husband put a $100 bill in a dollar slot machine at Circus Circus because the waitress was nearby and he wanted a Free drink. After playing $13 dollars.....boom, he hit for $10,000, and a free drink!!!
Unfortunately, two weeks ago, while on our cruise, our luck was nowhere to be found! Oh well, you can't win them all............
Can't wait to go to Harrah's in Cherokee, NC right after Christmas.

I've been to Casino Niagara in Niagara Falls Ontario a few times...never won a thing though I know some people who have won. one of my friends won like $1000 at one time...but not me.
There is another Casino called Casino Rama..its located about 90 minutes car drive north of Toronto, just outside a place called Orillia just north of Lake Simcoe...I've never been there though.
