Oh gosh... you would think by now I would have learnt, that white leather lazy boy chairs + 1 19mnth old baby + 1 black ball point pen = NIGHTMARE!

I have tried everything under the sun to try remove my daughters beautiful artwork off my chair, but nothing will take the ink off. Please tell me someone here knows how to help me. Pleeeeeeease.

Try BRASSO. If that doesn't do it, acetone nail polish remover may work.

Just use a cotton ball, LIGHTLY, and rub in circles, then again...very little of either substance on the ball should do the trick. Then wipe clean with another cotton ball.

Thanks Bill.. I will give it a try. I dont have Brasso, but I do have another metal polish (cant remember the name)... do you think that will work? I tried rubbing alcohol, but that never did anything but turn the ink pink.. hey Im a poet..

Brasso contains some naptha, which is the agent that will clean up the ink...if you have a silver/gold polish/cleaner, it might not do the job.

Acetone is also very good...I use either to rid myself of unwanted stains.

I also have white leather and 3 kids. We finally got black for the living room, but have moved the white into other rooms. For ink finger nail polish remover will take the ink off. But when you are done I would put some lotion or some kind of moisturizer on it, it may dry out the leather.

Also I found for different stains, like candle wax I had once, that degreaser works well on alot of things that other cleaners wont get. I use Zepps formula 505 from Home Depot, very cheap.
For crayons and gum and other sticky stuff, Goo Gone works wonders. Found almost anywhere to buy.
Hope this helps, I know that white leather can be a pain, but at least we can wipe it clean, unlike fabric couches.

A product called Zout will remove ball point ink from clothing as well as dried blood will be removed from clothes with this product. It can be found in the laundry aisle where pretreateing products like Shout are found. I have used Zout for years to keep white knit baseball pants looking white instead of red after sliding practice on wet red clay when my youngest son played Little League Ball. This product will also remove baby formula stains from clothing you might want to save and use again for the next baby to come along.

White furniture? Try white out.






OK Just kidding.

But for ink on walls, you can't just paint over it because it bleeds through. White out works great before painting over it.

Depending on how "white" the chair's covering is, you might want to pick up some white leather dye and a clear leather sealer after the cleanup.

Apply sparingly, rub in softly with cotton balls...let dry before buffing with a used VGC clean T-shirt.

I used to re-dye leather quite a bit...take the old color and finish off, then do as shown above to get just the "right" match to other such items (belts, holsters, mapcases, etc.). It takes a little eye-hand coordination, but the results are wortn every cotton ball.

I think my chair is permenatly tattooed It wont come off.. Ive tried all the great suggestions you guys have given me, but No luck.

Bill... she gets away with nearly anything, cause my heart just melts when she gives me a big toofy grin, pen in hand and said "peeper", which in Sarah speak means paper! So she thought the chair was paper.
