I have a problem

In my birth certificate it states that I am caucasian, which I clearly am not. I am hispanic, but I have no idea how to go about fixing this error, because of that I am not entitled for a lot of business programs that are geared towards minorities. Comments welcome. I was born in Texas, but live in Florida for now.

Does your name reflect your heritage? Were you born to one Caucasian parent and one Hispanic parent? I've heard that in some cases, the birth certificate reflects the mother's ethnicity.

Nope, both central americans. However, my mother is fair skinned, but still hispanic.

It would seem to me that you would need to get copies of your parents birth certificates or at least something proving the hispanic descent. They you would have to go through whatever process is required for changing them and that most likely would be in the city where you were born.

Hey, wxcrazytwo - try this link to the Social Security Administration.
Most people who need copies of their birth certificates go to their
local SS office, so, I don't know why they couldn't help you with this.
If you can't find it here, I'd check with your local SS office to find
the appropriate person to resolve the problem.

Good luck!
