Me and my father were talking about the aftermath and it just makes him mad.He maybe wrong or right but most of those people are getting gov. checks and foods stamps or like my father would put it "free hand out".He just thinks they need to move on and pack up what they have and move somewhere and not wait on someone from the Gov.
My father is 63 years old and a war vet,and the goverment tries to give him money for beening in the war ect but he tells them no,and tells me and my mother,"There is no such thing as in free money"!!If you did not earn it why take it.

I agree. While your father's generation may feel that way, which is their right, I, personally lived on food stamps and welfare for a short time when I was young. My mom and dad's business failed and you just can't get back on your feet overnight or without help. We were good people who simply fell on hard times. We had a tough enough time meeting the basic necessities and a car was a luxury and that was without a natural disater. I can not imagine how much worse it would have been if we had to deal with all the problems of a hurricane on top of that. However, having said that, I have not lived your father's life or had his experiences and I respect his and your right to disagree with me.
