broadcast ideas

Hello everyone. I have been to selected to be the weather reporter and producer for my high school's weekly news program. I would like to go into broadcast meteorology, so this should be a great experience for me.
I was wondering if anyone knows of any free or cheap templates or methods for creating graphics to use. We do have access to chroma key ("green screen") to air graphics.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
