I had a boss who used to walk down the halls talking to himself with expressions, out loud and he also talked with his hands. He looked like a lunatic!

Yes, I often talk to myself, though with less animation than :uarrow:

Oh no, never do I do that......you've got to be crazy!!!!

LOL

Just kidding, who doesn't? On walks with the dog, in the shower, best time is the car (but not at a traffic light). Not daily just when things are bugging me and I'm practicing how I want to phrase something. So I say it just right. Silly stuff like that.

Had to do a double take when I saw this thread go up - it has Janice written ALL over it. She's probably saying, he beat me to the punch, I was going to ask that question....he he

To others, I tend to use my hands a lot when I talk.

As for talking to myself -- not usually. I talk to myself (and the TV) when trying to figure out something I'm watching. And if I'm with friends, it's easier because I'm talking to the TV, myself, AND them...doesn't seem as wierd.

And I talk to myself when I write, usually walking around acting out stuff or jumping around trying to figure out the actions (usually for confrontational scenes). I'll confess, I even whip out a toy sword or hat to use/wear while acting out the scene in my head.

Which part? Or all of it? :)

I know I'm not the only writer who does. I can name at least one more. :)

Whew! I'm not alone here! Just got back from driving from Mi. to Oregon....my husband was surprised how much I talked to myself while driving....and to the other drivers too! (C'mon Buddy, stay in your own lane!")

I always use my hands in conversation. A few years ago, we had a wonderful interpretor for a deaf student.....she said she had never worked with anyone who got so many "hand signs" correct! Never had a lesson....just doin' what comes naturally!.....p

Yes, it's the only way I can have an intelligent discussion.

Seriously, I'll say stuff out loud to hear how it sounds. I do it when writing.

Under stress, yes, if I'm thinking of how I'll explain something, or to practice what I'm going to say to someone.
