If you had one wish....

what would it be?

Aside from the usual desires for peace on Earth, neverending love, no more disease or starvation, etc, what specific wish might you have for yourself, a loved one, or someone you don't even know personally?

THREE WISHES

If you had one wish in the world and could ask for absolutely anything from the heart, what would it be?

NBC is granting wishes for DESERVING individuals and entire communities for a new prime-time television show entitled THREE WISHES. Hosted by five-time Grammy-winning recording artist Amy Grant, the show will spotlight people who have inspiring or touching stories to tell.

There is no limit to the places THREE WISHES can take us and we hope to touch the lives of many along the way. No story is too big or small when it comes to making dreams come true.

We are looking for emotional stories of people in need. We want to help deserving people. People who always help others, but never think of themselves. The wishes can involve fantasies, reunions, and personal journeys -- as long as the wishes come from the heart. There are no limits to what this show can do or how many lives it can change. Anything you can imagine will be considered and price is not an object.

So ask yourself, if you could make a life-changing wish, what would it be? Would you like to surprise someone with a wish? Can we help grant a wish to an entire town?

Wow, that's a tough question. I was first going to say to wipe out abuse - all abuse (child, animal, spousal, work place, racism, etc.). That would encompass so much! Imagine what our world would be like w/o abuse of any kind? I am now hearing John Lennon's song Imagine playing in my head......

Seriously though, this wish never changes for me. I wish I had never eaten peanut butter while pregnant with my first baby. She has a life threatening allergy that will never go away. Has to carry an epi pen and Benadryl at all times. And all b/c I ate it every single day of my pregnancy AND while nursing her! Now they advise pregnant women to avoid PB. There is a direct coorelation between the two, since PB allergies are on the rise.

That will be my personal wish forever.

I would wish for improving health for my parents. They are both so sick right now.

The show will surely turn out to be a tearjerker. And it should give Amy Grant some deserving redemption for those in Christian and country music who turned their back on her during her more "pop" years.

Having been trained and certified as a wish-granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation (celebrating 25 years this year!), I know what it feels like to be working on the wish of a child in need as they die before it can be granted. The wish to make sense of all life's pain is not within our grasp.

So, for the show I'd wish that the children of Colorado City, Arizona, could be given a new loving perspective on life and its opportunities.

...and for me, that granddaughter Emma keeps saying "I love you Papa" before her ear gets tired and she hangs up the phone on me.

My three wishes would be that peace would breakout all over the world, 2nd wish would be that all sexual predators of children would self destruct and evaporate from this earth., 3rd wish is that the two little girls that were killed in FL this year, were still alive.

I wish all the nations in the world would get together and stop the starvation in Africa. Those poor people. Yes, the government steals the money. I want all of us to go down there and stop that misuse of money and get those people homes and things they need to start their lives. Enough is enough.

My first wish would be that there would be no more hardness of heart. If every human being was soft hearted there would be no more violence, no more children being conditioned to accept poverty, intollerance, hate and hurt. A genuinely soft heart is a very rare virtue these days. I myself even brush off the homeless person on the side of the street, not letting it penetrate my little cozy world, I put the blinkers on. I think our kids pick up this as well and ignore the ugly things in life... why.. because the majority of us have hardened our hearts to the harshness of life. The words of a song come to mind for me... Could you walk a mile in those shoes?

Second wish... I could take away some of the terrible things my parents have had to go through in the last few years and give them the things they deserve.

Third wish (actually a prayer I stand on in Faith)... My children will become great soldiers in God's army and have true christ like characteristics.
