Old Clothes
What is something you wore from the past that had a material or fabric that you do not see much now, kind of out of date material on clothing.
Me... I had a felt skirt, don't see too many of those these days.

How about polyester... sure some fabrics have polyester in them but I'm talking about the 100% polyester fabric.....
Also seersucker you dont see much anymore, I used to have seersucker sun dresses in the summer when I was kid. The fabric is light and is cooler, they should bring seersucker back!!

I remember a synthetic fabric that came out in the late 70's called (if I remember correctly) qiana. It was something of a precursor to the spandex blends we have now. Kind of a polyester/jersey knit type of fabric. Only reason I remember is our high school choir director decided we had to have new concert dresses and our mothers had to make them. These long dresses were cut on the bias, had a cowl neckline, and I think my Mom's cursing is still echoing somewhere out in space....

Thanks about the madris. How about the see thru white blouses made of a cotton chiffon material. Very stiff.
And rubber swimming suit caps. You don't see too many of those at the pools or beaches.
Winter knit hats that were real long down the back to a point with a big ball on the bottom.
Rock and Roll shoes.
Rubber goloushes.

Ok, I grew up in the Northern United States and we had 'Nose Warmers' that we wore in the winter. We had a bus driver who would knit all the kids on her route nose warmers and our mothers would make us wear the nose warmers to the bus stop as to not offend her. There would be a bunch of kids from K-12 at the bus stop with all different colored nose warmers on. It looked like something from an alien clown colony. We could not wait until spring so we didnt have to wear those itchy wool knit nose warmers again until winter. But now that I look back on it the memory is priceless. Thank you Mrs Chaney where ever you are, for caring enough about the kids in our hometown community that you spent a countless number of nights knitting to make sure we didnt suffer from frostbitten noses!!
