What was one toy you played with when you were young that you hardly see kids play these days. It was a toy that was extremely popular when you were young and all the kids played?

Me.... when I was little, all my girlfriends and me played jacks.

I used to love to play with paper dolls when I was a kid (don't think they even make those anymore) and a huge silly putty fan.

Any of the building toys - Lincoln Logs, Legos, and Erector sets.

I loved playing Old Maid!!!

It must be pyro in me..I loved wood burning sets. Also...give me a magnifying glass and I could be kept entertained for hours burning leaves, ants....etc...

The Lincoln Logs with the green roofs! And, although not a toy, it was a sign of adulthood when you got your first BB gun.

Got mine when I was about 10. Still have it.

Tea sets. You hardly ever see a little girl getting tea sets anymore.

This is going way back. I think they were Flash Gordon decoder rings.

Crazy as it sounds, someone could make a fortune if they brought back a television show for kids that would give them that kind of anticipation and participation.

Allow six weeks for delivery, though.

Oh, yes! I remember cutting out a Gale Storm paper doll set (and that TV star was an oldie even when I was young enough for paper dolls.).

I also remember my little sister (6 years younger) playing with Colorforms. Are Colorforms still manufactured?

I loved the paper dolls too....and jacks, pick-up-sticks, and marbles (had 4 brothers!)

I remember discussing old toys with my kids about 10 years ago.....
Mr. Potato Head came up. Their comment was "You mean you used REAL potatoes??".....p

Does tetherball count? I could "around the world" better than anyone! I was also the queen of chinese jump rope!

My father was a milkman when I was a kid. For those of you too young to remember, Borden's, Arden's and other milk companies had men who used to actually deliver milk, cream and ice cream to your door two or three times a week. We got lots of gifts from his customers at Xmas.

My favorite was a set of paper dolls that had stamped and cut out pads of clothes that you decorated and designed yourself with the enclosed colored pencils and paints. I spent hours designing clothes.

I loved playing with the Legos. Could spend hours building everything from trucks to farms.

Had to be my pogo stick. I could go up and down flights of stairs and even jump with no hands. I would go to the corner store on my pogo stick to pick up a pack of cigarettes for my dad. I loved that thing!
