Picture this.....
You are living out in the prairie back in 1800. You and your family are ranchers/farmers living way out with neighbors miles away.
What is one thing that you know you would have a hard time dealing with today. Only one.
Me..... bugs in the flour. I am sure they had all kinds of bugs in their flour and meals.

Only one? I can think of ten or twenty
The outhouse. When my parents bought the house I grew up in (in 1969) it didn't have indoor plumbing; AND they had raised 13 kids in that house.

I don't even camp in places where there is no plumbing any more!

Probably that my mother would've died upon giving me birth...
Woah that's deep.

Yes, I am sure a lot of women and babies died back then.

More likely you would have. If not, then soon after.

I am definitely thankful for modern OB care after having a c-section with my 11-1, breech son; my dr. did tell me that neither of us probably would have made it in the "olden days" (he looked like he was left over from the olden days ROFL)

I'm sure there were many that died but look at what the women had going for them...they walked everywhere and probably ate healthier. None of the modern conveniences of junk food!

Water in the house. Hot water in the house. Let me tell you that well water is extremely cold to bathe with. I can just imagine what it was like to wash clothes in the winter using well water.

I was born 3 months early...during a blizzard. I probably wouldn't have made it back then. But if I had, I would have had a hard time dealing with the heat. I love A/C!
