Seven-year-old girl murdered, mother shot in Hollygrove

A seven-year-old girl is dead and her mother is critically wounded after the two were shot inside of a home near Earhart Blvd. and Leonidas Wednesday afternoon.

A relative of the victims identified the girl as Talaisha Dickerson and the mother as Tiffany Dickerson. The relative said Ms. Dickerson was on life support at Charity hospital after being shot in the head.

Police spokesman Marlon Defillo said there was no immediate motive apparent nor any suspects, but he did say the brazeness of the crime, especially involving a young girl, shows how pronounced the crime problem in the city is now.

"This highlights the problems we see in the society right now," he said

Just recently, it was a murder suicide in Keller, TX. The mother killed her 11-year-old daughter, then slit her own wrists. This was because of divorce and custody issues. Another one of those "If I can't have her, no one does" type of cases.
