Hello, anyone that does not know me by now my name is Alex. I want some questions answered. Okay here I go.
My wife is pregnant and will be due in about 2 weeks. She is having pains in the back and and lower extremities, if you know what I mean. I was wondering when she will be due? Also, she has a lot of pressure when she stands, which gets worse at night, is this also signs that the baby is coming?
She has had two others, but all of them were different. Braden, was right on time, and Joseph was 3 days over. My Oldest Alex, I don't remember because he is 10 and I cannot think that far back, LOL.. Please help figure out these symptoms. I want to hug and love my Nicholas Andrew NOW. LOL..

Congratulations..... I would suggest she call her doctors office and report these symptons. They will tell her what to do. She may be coming early.

She did last Monday, but there was no difference in change. However, this past week she has been feeling more pressure, so I think its time.
Thanks Janice, always like to hear a woman's opinion..

Pressure can mean the baby has dropped low, getting ready for labor. Not immediate labor beginning but it does sound like she's close now. I'd have a small suitcase packed, relatives on call for the other children and just be ready.
My first baby came 8 days before my due date.
Second baby, 21 days before my due date.
I don't know of anyone who actually delivered on their due date! It's just a rough estimate and OB's want you ready 2 weeks prior and after the due date.
I often read this medical website. See if there's anything here that might help answer your questions...

Good luck and keep us posted!

Miss Mary, we are packed and ready. LOL, someone told her to do jumping jacks. LOL. You know why, because her sister did it and the next morning her back leaked and eventually broke. Yeah, I don't know about this one. I am just anxious, I guess.

She could try walking up and down steps. But I'd skip the jumping jacks! I've heard of all sorts of things....locally, we have a wonderful pizza/Italian eatery chain. Locals swear by their pizza, saying having a peperoni pizza brought on their wives labor....I don't know if that's true.
I was doing clerical work at home hours before my second was born, lots of stooping, bending, lifting (light loads). My daughter was sitting on a nerve and I had shooting pains down my legs. I actually prayed she'd be born soon.....and my water broke 3 hours later!

Whether or not she's close to delivering, chances are the baby's moving which is putting a lot of stress on the uteran wall...the uterus is "anchored" in place by a series of tendons which have, more than likely, been stretched throughout the pregnancy. Kind of like pulling your hamstring. The pain is generally localized in the lower back.
My wife is going through the exact same thing right now...but we're only 22 weeks...what we do is hit the pool where she does some mild stretching.

Alex, are you trying for the Fred Flintstone anxious father award? If your wife had two babies already, she probably will have a good idea when "it's time." We had 4 of our own, and we had several false alarms each time. the sure signs are the water breaking, dilation, and regular contractions. Even after these, it can be many hours until she goes into serious labor. If I remember right, with one of them it was over a day after her water broke and she started dilating. I think they tried to induce labor and it ended up as a C-Section. When it's time, she'll know.

Make her a nice salad with balsamic vinegar and oil. I hear it works wonders. Several woman tried it and went into labor within a couple of hours. Frankly, I believe its best to leave mother nature to do her own thing. My sister started her labor pains early on purpose and had an extremely long labor and delivery because her body wasn't ready. My niece's labor was all lower back pain up until delivery. Massages in between contractions helped a lot.

Sorry, Alex, I was trying to be funny, but I guess this is not a funny matter. We don't know each other that well, so that doesn't help. Please accept my apology.
With all sincerity, I wish you guys the very best.

If she starts cleaning bathrooms, straightening closets, cleaning ovens, etc. --put the bags in the car. I went through the nesting syndrome with all three of mine and delivered soon after -- soon being a relative word.
Good luck and kiss him for all of us.

my best friend leaked for 2 weeks prior to delivery... she did squats along the wall to help gravity do its course... it must have helped... her water broke in the late morning and she had the baby at dinner time.... this was a year ago... she's due in Feb with the next one.
