while i have great respect for the office he holds (but no respect for the person in it), it is clear to me that it's a thumbs up.

it's his thumb that's showing. You can even see the fingertips wrapped Around to the left side of his fist.

Trust me, I'm a disgruntled Republican who's not to pleased with President Bush. I have no desire to defend him when he screws up. This is a clear thumbs up.

It's all in the wrist. Hold up your own thumb at that angle and see how narrow your wrist is. Then try it with your middle finger. Obvious difference.

I vote thumb also.

NAFTA.. was passed now CAFTA... has passed next is the FTAA.. while the borders stay wide open... nice job.. are there any real conservatives left who care about american national soveignty? Maybe, when the pan american union arrives, people will decide to wake up to the truth about the over regionalization that the legislature and executive branch are promoting.... America 1st....

Like it or not, globalization is a juggernaut trend that cannot be effectively fought. Since time immemorial, groups of people have been merging into larger and larger groups. Attempts to stop or reverse the process inevitably result in bloodshed and warfare. A true conservative recognizes historical fact and always, ALWAYS pushes for free trade and open, transparent markets.

Protectionism results in countries like India where the vast majority of people are dirt poor and goods are both expensive and inferior in quality.

I look forward to the Pan-American Union about which you seem so negative.
