Check out the state of their message boards right now.....unless there's a major hurricane about to strike, I get my wx updates from other stations or local ones.

That is what I am doing also. They are doing a very good job here in Tampa regarding the weather and updates.

While TWC has continued to add Storm Stories, Gardnening/Allergy info, other cable channels have stepped up their wx forecasting. Not to mention my local channels have as well. Not to mention yet again, online sites. It used to be you turned to TWC first, but many people I've read posts from, turn elsewhere first. TWC isn't even second on their personal check list. Sad really, considering how well respected TWC used to be.
I am honestly surprised another cable weather channel hasn't started up. The opportunity seems ripe for one.

The sad thing is they are getting higher viewership or they wouldn't be doing this. Anyone have any facts or figures?

TWC is starting to drive me up the wall with their constant repeats of Storm Stories. But then again, that's why storm2K is here!

Do you have any figures that they are actually gaining a higher viewership? Most people I talk to say TWC is heading in a commercialized direction.

Linda... the press release on TWC's site that Ed linked us to last week mentioned increased ratings for long form programs, ie: Storm Stories.
Also... NBC's WeatherPlus is available in certain markets now. I wish it was here!
Someone tell me about weather plus.

Thanks, Garrett. I will admit I do watch some of the Storm Stories.

You maybe see the OCM's for 5 minues tops in a 10 minute period... through all the commercial breaks; Dr Anna Marie; P Allen Smith; and the home improvement guy... that's why they are on for 2 hours... just so viewers could get a 'total' hour of wx.

LOL, our cable co. has had a problem with TWC, all weekend -
every other cable channel works but TWC - we're getting
the infamous "green screen"! This would be the
perfect
time for me to have
another weather channel!

Annette... your green screen might be more accurate than TWC is. I hear Nashville has Weather Plus now. Do you get it?

Not to my knowledge, Garrett. It must not be
"in the package" with the cable company.

Who needs "them" when we got Storm2K?

TWC has been sinking over the years. Most of their meteorologists just suck. I still have respect for Jim Cantore but ones like Dave Schwarts just make me want to break the TV.
