Hey everyone. I've bee out for awhile, alot of it has to do with July 4th festivities and that carried on up to Myrtle Beach 2005, which lasted from July 10-17, 2005. The weather theme was hot and humid. High temps were 90-93 with heat indices of 100-110. At night temperatures never dropped much below 80 degrees. The lowest temp was 76 degrees which was recorded during a thunderstorm.

I got plenty of sun tan and also had my luck with lightning photography while down at the beach. I saw two intense lightning storms situated just offshore from Myrtle Beach on Wednesday night July 13 and Thursday night July 14th. In both cases strong to severe storms were 20-40 nautical miles offshore from the beach and I felt more than safe enough to photograph lightning on the beach.

Right now I got several photos of myself taken from North Myrtle Beach and I also have one photo of lightning. I took over a dozen lightning pics just from the offshore storms.

Looks like you had a lot of fun. It is a nice beach. I love the beach! Only 13 more days until I leave for Destin, Florida!!! WHOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!

So,how do you like the beach :wink:

I have lived here all my life and this place is growing fast,new roads,more hotels,ect.If I could I would move to the mountains!!!!

Glad you enjoyed your time here. It really is a pretty area.I love the pic of the lightining at night.
I also live between North Myrtle Beach and Little River, and agree Bud about the craziness of the increase in traffic and people moving here in droves. Back in the early 80's in the off season you could drive all the way from main street to the end of Cherry Grove and often not even see one other car.
We do plan on moving to the mountains when my husband retires from the city of Myrtle Beach. We have two and a half acres on the Dan River just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in southern Virginia just waiting for a log home.

I'm coming to Cherry Grove for a week Aug. 13th. Can't wait to get to Barefoot Landing and Bass Pro Shop. :lol:

Haven't been to NMB since early 80's.

I've been to barefoot landing and also broadway at the beach Debbie. Ohhh it was incredibly nice. But yes there is alot more population these days along the coast, I can attest to that even up here in Maryland.

Yea it's nice but yea you can tell coastal population has grown significantly in the past 20-25 years. I've been down in Main Street, which is quite commercialized and likewise highway 17. I stayed at the freebird off of 56th Avenue and north Ocean Blvd in the Cherry Grove Section.

The lightning totally rocked off the coast of north Myrtle Beach late at night on July 13th and 14th. I was on the beach both nights photographing lightning, it was incredible.

I have been to Myrtle Beach several times and its very neat to see how much it changes from year to year. First time I was there was in 91. Completely different then then it is now. I love it though. Awesome place. I would love to live along the beach.

Its oooook to live here,BUT the pay SUCKS BAD!!!!!The Avg pay wage is 6.25 per hour and most people I know work either 2 or 3 jobs just to pay the rent!!!Alot people live 25 to 50 mile away where the rent is cheaper.Even a computer tech makes only $8 per hour!!!!!
Yes,its fun in the sun,but why move to a place if you have to work ever day.Also in the summer they will work you to death and in the winter time be lucky to get 22 hours and that is fulltime!!!!Me and my wife are luckly debt free we just have a few bills so we have time for our little girl.Some of the people I work with get only 3 hours of sleep before they have to go to there next job!!!
