Thanks to both of ya! I think I heard when I was a schoolkid that odds were if you had 30 people in a room, two of them would share a birthday. Funky, huh? :D

So I Googled it:

Check it out, a little too much math about it--if you have 23 or more people in the room, there's a 50% chance two will share a birthday: http://noca.leaver.org/birthday/other.html

No, no, no... not 45. It's the 16th anniversary of your 29th birthday. Or 6th of your 39th, depending on when you want to stop the clock. At any rate, Happy Anniversary!

Happy, happy Birthday, x-y-no and HurryKane!

Take it from an old broad, age really is just a state of mind -- so reach for all the goodness you can imagine!

Hey Jan - this will make you appreciate being 45....you don't qualify for an AARP card yet.

Yes ~before~ I turned 50, the AARP membership info came. I flung it across the table, disgusted. Then another info packet came - our records indicate you haven't signed up yet......and I'm yelling for neighbors to hear - that's b/c I'm not ready to face I'm 50 yet!!! And I want to know who said 50 = senior? LOL The other day I had a sample mag come, something about Mature Lady at 40. This chick on the cover has all white, gray hair! I'm thinking - let me introduce you to a box of Nice & Easy there lady......so, AARP card info #2, got flung across the counter, again.

That is until I went to book overnight hotel stays for parent's weekend this fall (daughter starts college next month) and there it was, in black and white - AARP discounts. Hubby says, Mary you'd better sign up!!! (he's a few years younger than me).

So see, you don't even have to even ~think~ about your AARP card yet.....you should hear my kids. They're ready to ship me off to the old folks home, stick my rear in a rocker, hand me a checkers game or a bingo card. NO thank you I say! Not yet....off to color my hair now...not really, but hopefully now you are glad to be 45!

Actually, Marty is 10 years older than me - I had GREAT FUN at his expense (he deserved it anyway) when he started to get those invitations.

To tell you the truth, the AARP magazine has alot of good articles and bits of information in it.

That's nothing. AARP sent me a temporary card and membership info when I was 25. Honest.

Big Dog - really!!! Wow ,you must have really been mad. Or thought it was a good joke. LOL

Steph - keep trying to sell it to me...Jim's doing the same. Although he says skip the magazine, just get the membership. Spoken from the guy who devours his monthly Consumer Report's Mag.....for almost all major purchases, we must consult CR first....so when he heard we can get hotel discounts now, suddenly that card looked better. To HIM!

Nah, I thought it was funny. In fact, I would have tried to use the card if I got the chance.

I would think you'd need some heavy duty makeup to pull off 50 at age 25!

On the flip side of this, I color my hair, gray is all covered up and am told I look much younger than I am. So I guess I will have some explaining to do. We were paying for carryout lunches once and if you ate at this deli on Wednesdays, they offer a senior discount. My daughter Laura was saying we needed to come back then and making a big deal out of it. People behind us were looking all around, as if to ask who are you referring to? Where is this little old lady you're talking about.....someday soon it will all catch up to me. LOL
