Is THAT all you got? I have expanded cable (Charter) plus all of the movie channels; HBO (5), TWC (4), SHO (5) MAX (5) Encore (6), plus about 20 PPV channels AND music for all tastes (26 channels).

Yeah, out of the one hundred whatever that we get, there's only about 4 channels that I watch. So many channels, so little to watch.

I've never had NEAR as many channels with Expanded Basic... where I lived until 2 1/2 years ago only had 2-65 minus 14-22 for movie channels, so I have almost 20 channels more than them.

I'm really wanting to get DirecTV or Dish. Cable company has gotten better(used to have frequent outages etc.), but they keep raising rates.

DirecTV or Dish is a BAD idea! Had one of those, and the ads I've seen are "no lie" re: poor reception in bad wx (even heavy overcast will prevent signals!), charge upon charge for every little mishap or call.

Not so w/Charter (by whom we also have our "Warp-5" computer setup)!

I don't think there's enough room on one page to post my lineup.

In short -- I have the "America's Everything Pak" from Dish.

And as Bill says, bad wx really messes up reception...as well as a tree branch with a growth spurt. Had to climb up near the roof to trim one a couple of months ago. The signal kept going in and out and I couldn't figure out why since it wasn't storming or windy. Finally, got smart and climbed up for a closer look.

That's the reason why we don't have it yet. I've heard nothing but bad stuff even when there's low clouds. That doesn't cut it for me. :P

LOL @ Ed.....seems like the MORE channels you have, it's TWICE the garbage! More reality shows :grr: more "no morals" channels, MORE sex oriented channels.

I only want Soapnet....which is of course on the highest Satellite tier....for xmas my girls almost me gave a piece of netting, with a bar of Dove in it. LOL Reason I wanted it back then was for Dallas reruns. I've gotten over it....too busy in reality. And now I have Seasons 1 and 2 of D. Have I had time to watch them all, not really! Surprised.....oh well. Sans Soapnet for me....

But that's the only channel I really miss that we had on our former cable lineup.

Might as well.

Of all things though -- it has Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network, but not the Lifetime Real Women channel.

A lot of the "channels" are actually PPV and most of those are sports. Then there's also a ton of Sirius music channels -- every possible genre and sub-genre you could name. If I'm smart, I'll cancel some of it and save money. I don't know why I have all the darn movie channels since I'm such a die-hard NBC fan (*coughbutABCispickingupspeedwithDesperateHousewivescough*). I used to watch "Dead Like Me" on Showtime, but it got cancelled. There's that other *ahem* series on Showtime, but it's too weird.
