MOSCOW (AP) _ A Russian astrologer claims the NASA space probe that crashed into a comet “ruins the natural balance of forces in the universe.”
A Russian newspaper says the astrologer has filed a lawsuit against NASA seeking $300 million for her “moral suffering.” $300 million is about the cost of the mission.
Earlier she told the newspaper Izvestia that the experiment would “deform her horoscope.”
The paper says a Moscow court has postponed hearings on the case until late this month. NASA representatives have not been available for comment.
The probe’s comet crash sent up a cloud of debris that, scientists hope, will offer new knowledge about the formation of the solar system.
Scientists say the crash did not significantly alter the comet’s orbit around the sun. They say the experiment does not pose any danger to Earth.
