I probably have a total different taste of music to everyone here, but I though it'd be interesting to see what genre's of music you like/listen to ?

Mine : hXc (hardcore),Emo,Indie,Screemo,metal

Classic rock, Southern rock, jazz, funk, Elvis, Jimmy Buffett, some techno, a little pop/Top 40 thrown in.

I think Elvis and Jimmy Buffett should be considered genres on their own.

I'll listen to almost anything...

I've got cd's from Tim Mcgraw to Linkon Park all the 80's stuff..Slipknot to Bryan Adams......

I listen to country, old and new, some classical , some gospel , whatever my hubby has the radio in the car on. My radio in the house is set at WPCV, 97.5 FM They play a mix of country from old and new. Sat night from 7 pm to midnight is Country Classics and on Sun night from 7pm to midnight is Golden Oldies in Country Music.

I have a varied taste in music although I prefer country and bluegrass. I enjoy classical, show tunes, some alternative, and an occasional classic rock song.

Newer country, VERY little of the old "Twangy, cry in your beer, my wife ran off with the DOG" country :roll:

Easy listening and of course, you KNOW who my FAVORITE singer is, the late, GREAT.....Nat King Cole!

Alternative rock and new at that. Not into oldies much. At least nothing before 1990. Which is kind of odd since most people my age are into oldies! LOL I've just always stayed current with my music tastes, and have gravitated towards alt.

I am for the most part classic rock and country; however, on those killer nights out in the ocean on my boat, it's Jimmy Buffett and Steve Miller.

Easier to state what I don't like...rap, hip-hop, alternative, metal (heavy or otherwise), punk, goth, "gangsta", gospel, contemporary Christian and country/Western. :roll:

I mainly listen to thrash metal, hardcore, metalcore but I do like alot of music including classic rock, alternative, SOME country and SOME rap. My band is a metalcore band.

Classic rock, soft rock, Motown, R&B, some classical, John Denver, Jimmy Buffet, and the "oldies" stations that play 50's, 60's and 70's.

A LONG history of what music I have listened to.

Fall 1994 - Spring 1996 Country.

Spring/Summer 1996 - Summer 2002 80s, 90s and Today (Hot Adult Contemporary).

Fll 2002 - late Winter 2004 Light rock (Lighter Adult Contemporary)

Spring 2004 - Spring 2005 Late 70s through VERY early 90s (Retro). This station played some songs that rarely get played on radio today. They go DEEP into the playlist, particuarly in the 80s.

I loved the station, until they made an IMHO, a STUPID move. They changed it to variety in late May 2005. I somewhat liked hearing some of the hits from the 90s and 80s, but they played some 60s and 70s. It is one of those "we play anything" Bob FM/Jack FM formats.

I stuck with it until about mid -June. I kind of missed the Retro format, but I did not really like the new "Bob" format either.

A couple weeks ago, I was looking at doing something different: National Public Radio! First, I get some news from stateside and from the other side of the pond (BBC). Second, theyy have some interesting programs on. Third, which may be QUITE useful come fall (14 hours of some difficult courses) some classical music. I thought I would NEVER listen to classical, but it does calm my nerves. In addition, they have some jazz and blues programs on the weekends.

Music that I cannot stand includes rap, punk, hard rock, metal, etc.

NPR/BBC is/are also on my "never listen to it/them" list...if I wanted to hear that stuff, i'd go to a Howard Dean rally (which would never happen). :roll:
