Jim Cantore makes magazine cover!

#1 Postby Skywatch_NC » Sat Jun 25, 2005 12:57 pm

If any here take Guideposts by mail or buys off the rack...Jim Cantore is on the cover of the July issue and a very inspirational story about he and his family inside...talks about his wife's Parkinson's...and their kids have Fragile X Syndrome. Also, covers some about his job and his charity work for Parkinson's and Fragile X. Even mentions a tribute to John Hope and his tropical forecasting career.

Thanks Eric. I will enjoy reading this article. I recall a similar article about Jim's family and their struggles with chronic illness, last summer, during the height of Hurricane Season. Needless to say I was even more impressed with him, as a human being, a dad and husband, let alone OCM.

Jim and his wife are real inspirations. I am fortunate to have stayed in touch with him off and on over the years through my connection with TWC. His messages are always positive and uplifting.

Here's a link to the article itself...rather than posting the entire story here.

I read something during the height of hurricane season about Cantore and his family... if I remember right... during Ivan the terrible. They are quite the warriors. Truly 'weathering the storm'

Thanks Eric and Poppysky for passing the links along. I truly believe that you really don't know the strength you have within you until it is tested. Most people would say "I don't know how you handle it, I never could", but THEY CAN. It handled one day at a time.

Jim and his whole family are truly inspiring.

I can imagine how disappointed Jim was when John Hope critqued his forecasts on the Tropical Forecasts. John Hope was the elder of TWC and I'm sure sorely missed even today.

From my TWC sources... it was hard for the whole staff to lose John Hope... that is why his bio is still up on the webpage.

Anyways, Cantore's family is truly inspiring... it seems nothing is stopping them.
