Song Dedications (sorta)

#1 Postby southerngale » Wed Jun 22, 2005 10:36 pm

Is there a certain song that reminds you of another storm2k member? Maybe it's the lyrics, or maybe some other reason, but when you hear it, you think about that member.

There are others but I'll just name one now..."Love Shack" - I think of Frick (CajunMama) because she LOVES that song and would always request it to GW in chat. So now I can't hear it without thinking about her. lol

Ok, let's see how this goes...

Good topic Kelly! I racked my brain, though, and couldn't come up with anything.

Eric - aww, thanks!!!! I hear it all the time, on the radio and TV. But could I sing it right this minute - probably not....something like...

When you're feeling good and hungry, it's Skyline Time. Gather your friends and family around......

I dedicate a 3 way to you Eric. And now the rest of the board is going - huh? On second glance, I see there are more than a few Skyline Franchises in Florida now!!! So maybe a few S2K members would have heard about it....

I Am Woman for southerngale, Lindaloo, sunny and Stephanie; any "AFLAC!" commercial for Shawn, and Poke Salad Annie ("Da gator gotcher granny...chomp, chomp-chomp!") for CajunMama.

But I have a special song that reminds me of Jennifer Wilbanks, the "runaway bride"...Stop In Nevada, Billly Joel.

Oh, and now she's heading out for Cal-i-for-nia
And she doesn't know what's comin'
But she sure knows what she's leavin' behind
And she left a little letter
Says she's gonna make a stop in Nevada
Good-bye....good-bye!

Yeah, everytime I hear any song from Grease with Olivia Newton-John, I immediately think of GDuck.

When I hear the theme song to George of the Jungle, I think of george_r_1961, probably because I call him George of the Jungle all the time. :P

Awwwwwwwww...thanks, guys!! :)

There's a movie, but not really a song...although when I hear one of the songs from the movie, it makes me think of the movie, which makes me think of the S2Ker. I'd say, but it would probably be misinterpreted.

I'll just say that the movie is Urban Cowboy and I'll leave it at that. :)

For some weird reason lately, when I hear the theme to "Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery," I think of george_r_1961. I really don't care to see the movie though...it's looks sophomoric to me. Can't really explain the connection, but I'm sure there's a reason.

lol duckie - he's not really that mysterious though. j/k George :P
You should see it to find the connection.

Oh and btw...like the others, it's hard to hear an Olivia Newton John without thinking about you! Particularly if I hear the words...Tell me about it, stud.

I just LOOOOVE how she says that!! As far as songs go, "Magic" would have to be one of my all-time faves, followed by "Make A Move On Me." Her whole Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 is hot...along with the pics on the inside and outside. That's one of the things kids these days will miss out on -- the big LP covers, especially the ones that open up on the inside to reveal more photos. Those images on little bitty CD's just don't cut it.

A song called "Impi" by Johnny clegg reminds me of Bill (soldier) ;)

Oh and everytime my son watches the sponge bob episode about the shoe tying. I crack up because Mike Watkins even posted the lyrics last season in the tropics forum.. "loop de Loop"

Anything by creed reminds me of SF

That wacky song called "shutt uppa your face" well.. greatone comes to mind!

Aw...What reminds me of Amanzi is both the theme title song from Zulu and Men of Harlech...the Welsh battle song from the same picture.

BAY-ETE!
