I only haved gone to New York but I haved been in Las Vegas by the way I am surprised that it does not be at survey.

The lack of American cities on this list really doesn't surprise me in the least. Many of the developed countries overseas are far more expensive, cost of living wise, than US cities.

A big factor in cost of living, of course, is gas prices. America is one of the cheaper nations in terms of gas prices.

For example, a few minutes ago I was driving and saw the price of gas was $2.099. Use that prices as a standard for an entire year. Pretend my car gets 25 miles per gallon and I drive 10 miles roundtrip for work and don't use the car for any other means. Also, pretend I work a standard 5-day work week disregarding vacation and holidays.

Go with 260 annual work days times 10 miles driving per day = 2600 miles. Divide the gas mileage and I'd need 104 gallons of fuel annually.

In America, using $2.099/gallon... I would pay $218.30.

In Tokyo, Japan, the price is $4.24/gallon. Apply the same figures above, the price becomes $440.96.

Now, apply similar "inflations" to all consumer products -- bread, milk, eggs, etc. Include rises in the price of electronics, housing, etc. The numbers stack up QUICK.
