Duckie...I read that article in the Baton Rouge Advocate yesterday....what a story! What a great coach, team and fans. This story just reinforces that there are good people with big hearts out there.

I know...just wondering how it applied to the basketball game in the article.

Even in "Rudy," they didn't tear down goalposts. But they carried him off the field. :)

For me, it's the ultimate icon of celebration, whatever the event. :D I love hearing stories like this. I wish there was a video of it somewhere.

I posted this earlier (in The Power of Perseverance thread) and it was ignored. But anyway, thanks for posting it again because it is a wonderful story and can definitely change some people's lives.

Oops, my fault. I seem to have missed a handful of posts this weekend. I'm just a bit distracted. I'd explain why, but y'all don't wanna hear it.

Speaking of Rudy, he's doing pretty well for himself as a motivational speaker.

I love the movie Rudy! I still cry every time I see it-- probably because I was only 1 semester way from graduating from college, and I was one of those kids that wasn't supposed to go to school (financial, social reasons, age, etc). I sat in the theater just cryin'. Still do!

Great article!
