or not as good as it could be.

Today is the 8 month anniversary of my breakup with my former girlfriend, Nathalie. I still have problems dealing with it, 8 months later. I hope I get through today okay. :( Just wanted to vent that.

Thanks Linda. I realized it Sunday, when I was thinking about the speech I had to give for my 8:00 today. And that didn't make today any easier either. But yeah, you'll hear from me by the end of the day most likely.

I'm doing what I can but believe me today hasn't been really fun. I'm gonna get out of here (that is, away from home) this afternoon and remain gone most of the evening. I need a break from there.

Hey man, I see everyone is telling you to hang in there. But I'll change that tune a bit. Like my Dad told me when I was still sulking a month after breaking up with a girl in high school, "Get over it, NOW!!!" Dude, it's been 8 months. 8 months!! It's time to let it go. Don't let that break up affect like that, for this long. I don't know you, but I bet you're better than that. You need to shake it off and move on. Best of luck.

Dude. First off, this whole thing has had me messed up for the entire time. She was my FIRST girlfriend. There will always be a place in my heart for her, and I will never forget her. Her family still contacts me from time to time, so it's really hard to let it go. :( And you're trying to tell me 8 months is too long??? I don't think you're in any position to tell me. OK? It takes a while to get over someone's death. Same with a breakup.

Well Jeremy, you know how I feel. ((Hugs)) I think it's a good idea that you get out of the house and take your mind off of it. I know that a lose is a lose whether it be 8 years or 8 months. When the heart gets broken it takes a long time to mend. I hope you find something that will brighten your day a little.

Thanks Karan. I don't think gboudx gets it...probably hasn't ever been through the kind of rough period I have had recently.

I really think he was just trying to help. I think you might be (and rightly so) a little bit over-sensitive. ((Hugs))

You mentioned a break up. If she passed away, then yes that changes things a bit. And I sense there's some history here I'm not aware of. I'm not new to s2k, but sort of new to the Off-topic board. Again, if it's a death situation, then I would agree that it takes a while.

Gboudx wasn't trying to be rude rock. Most people have known loss, but we all deal with it differently. There is no right or wrong approach, though I guess you could have right or wrong results. I just got out of a two year relationship three months ago, I was dumped and it was out of the blue for me.

Never cast your eyes too far downward, the most beautiful things in the world are right in front of you, to the sides of you, above you.

vale... be well.

You sense correctly. I've been on a real downer since the whole thing began.

And yes there's some history there...I went to my senior prom with her, her mom taught at the middle school I went to, and she even went to my church for a while. It just really does hurt. So yeah, you could say I'm a little bit over-sensitive about the subject. I'm really sensitive to being hurt by other people, and I can't stand to have that happen.
