What are some of your favorite books that you have read?

1) Wuthering Heights-Emily Bronte
2) Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte (I have read these 2 books a zillion times)

3)We the living-Ayan Rand
4) The fountainhead-Ayan Rand
5)Exodus-Leon Uris
6)Trinity-Leon Uris
7) The power of one - Bryce Courtney
8) The story of an African farm-Olive Schreiner
9) To kill a mocking bird-Harper Lee
10) Anything written by Wilbur Smith (very light reading, but I really love his stories)

1) To Kill A Mockingbird... that is my all-time favorite novel.

I love reading so much I could list books forever and still not be able to distinguish my other favorites so I will leave it at that.

1. I liked this book called "Equus". I forget who wrote it though.
2. Also like "Inherit the Wind" thought it was a thought provoking book.

Inherit The Wind is good. I also like Animal Farm!

Ishmael by Daniel Quinn...it definitely makes you think!

Too many books to categorize any favorites; up until 3 years ago, my personal library comprised over 600 volumes (had to get rid of them, as the apartment we now live in had no space for them).

Interesting how any of you can read ("long") books, piling up posts more than I am here and I online all day long.

I have never really liked to read. I am more for reference books than stories.

I can go through a Tom Clancy book in two nights! I just really like the way he weaves a story! Once I get started it's hard for me to put down. I try and read the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy every three years or so. I always give something different out of the books every time I do!

Another thing, my comprehension isn't too good... so reading stories isn't generally worth it. I can only read books fast, at times.

I tend to read books on self improvement, management, and historical perspectives that help me understand how we got to this point in time.

Kathy reads James Patterson and many others...but can devour a good novel in 48 hours!

One hour into reading anything and it's lights out for me!

-Anything Tolkien
-Dune
-The Foundation series (only the first 5 books are good IMO)
-At one time (years upon years upon years ago) I read at least 3000 pages of Star Wars fiction.

-Pinker (Language Instinct, Words and Rules, How the Mind Works and now The Blank Slate)
-My various language-related books (Guide to Old English, The Latin Language, Comparative Indo-European Linguistics and the great The World's Major Languages are my favorites)
-My various programming tomes (C Unleashed is my favorite of the bunch)
-Many other non-fiction/reference works for various and sundry fields.

Equus was by Peter Schaeffer. I just read it not two weeks ago. Rather disturbing. And speaking of that, there are several books I have enjoyed reading for English class: Siddhartha, Wuthering Heights, Brave New World, and some others.

LOL MF. I too get the head stuck in the book syndrome. Actually the world could fall apart around me and I would not notice, if I had my nose stuck in a good book. I have read a few of the Clancy novels. I enjoyed "hunt for red october and patriot games" My husband is addicted to the playstation game Rainbow 6. I think I will stick to the reading part, I die every 2 seconds. My 3 year old son is better at PS than I am
