Titanic has been for me the best movie that I had seen in my life because it was a veridic story and it combined romance with action and tragedy and the actors and actresses preformed in a great manner.

But for all here what movie(s) haved been the best you haved seen?

This is a tough one because I haven't seen a lot of movies. I would rather read a book. I would have to say that <<Le Huiteme Jour>> (A French movie obviously) is my fav. movie of all time that I have seen. Mr. Holland's Opus is a very close second!!

There are many but probably my all time best is "Gone With the Wind".

I also loved Mr. Holland's Opus, Garrett. Just got it for Christmas.

Here are few off the top, in no particular order:

Pulp Fiction
Falling Down
Galaxy Quest
Shawshank Redemption
Terminator
Monty Python - Holy Grail
Being There
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
All About Eve
ET, Close Encounters

Either "Excalibur", "Gladiator" or "Exodus", with "Cast a Giant Shadow" and "Spartacus" close seconds.

Same here - Gone With The Wind.

From there, it might be Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, among others.

I have many, many fluff type movies but you could hardly classify them as the best movies ever made:

any Doris Day movie
Yours, Mine and Ours
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
any family movie

Finally, I was really into Disaster films years ago, my faves there are:

Towering Inferno
Airport
Poseiden Adventure

Oh I almost forgot... Twister is great too. A little unrealistic, but I still like it. :D

wx247!!!! - how can we not mention Twister on a Weather message board! Thanks for the reminder. And here I just admitted I was into disaster films too. LOL Yes, that movie was a tad too far fetched but it was a good 2 hour escape!

Ocean's Eleven was a very enjoyable movie in my opinion. I also liked the LOTR movies. I know a lot of people hated David Lynch's version of Dune, but I liked it a lot. Holy Grail is good as well.
